Lanzarote will host, for the first time, the celebration of the Top10 Qué bueno Canarias Heineken Awards, at a gala that will take place this Monday, February 10, at the Casa-Museo del Campesino from 7:30 p.m.
With the collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, through the Saborea Lanzarote label, this event, which will reward the trajectory achieved through effort and excellence, will bring together numerous restaurant professionals from all over the Archipelago, but also producers, distributors, businessmen and specialized press.
The president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, and the Minister of Tourism and Economic Promotion, Ángel Vázquez, will speak at the opening and closing of the gala where about fifteen restaurants from Lanzarote are nominated in the different categories.
Thus, as Best Restoration Project 2019, the restaurants Dunas de Famara, Liken and Kamezí Deli & Bistro are nominated; as Best Gastrobar 2019, the Taberna El Bocadito is nominated; in the Best Hotel Restaurant 2019 category, Altamar, Arrecife Gran Hotel & Spa, Isla de Lobos, Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort and Kentia, La Isla y El Mar Hotel Boutique are nominated.
Also, as Best Foreign Cuisine 2019, there are Cantina Don Rafael and Sebastyan´s; Best Spanish and Market Cuisine 2019, the restaurants Arena and La Casa Roja; Best Traditional or Modern Canarian Cuisine 2019, the restaurants Lilium and Brisa Marina; Best Room Service 2019, the restaurant Isla de Lobos. With respect to the category of Best Chef of the Canary Islands 2019, the nominee for Lanzarote is Adrián Rodríguez, while as Best Restaurant of the Canary Islands 2019, El Risco and La Bodega de Santiago are nominated.
Both María Dolores Corujo and Ángel Vázquez wanted to wish "the nominees from the island of Lanzarote the best of luck", and have expressed their "confidence that these awards will value the experience, innovation and quality of our restaurants and chefs, who, more and more, value our local product".
Special nod to the artisan products of Lanzarote
The grand finale of the event will be given by outstanding chefs from Lanzarote with their culinary creations, among which are Dailos Perdomo, with his 'Goat stew, coriander cream and pickled onion'; Abel del Rosario with his elaboration of 'Ecological tomato from Finca Machinda, smoked wreckfish and beetroot guacamole'; Orlando Ortega with his 'Sweet potato profiterole from jable with cured sea bass' and Davis Díaz with his dish 'Croquette of roasted Santa banana and pompano', among others.
On the occasion of the celebration of these important regional awards, the Casa-Museo El Campesino will host an attractive market with artisan products from Lanzarote. "With this special nod, we value the island producers of liqueurs, shortbreads, vermouth, mojos, jams or preserves, in addition, of course, to our wineries and cheese factories," says Councilor Ángel Vázquez.
