The island of Lanzarote has a new cultural association. It is Cesariones de la Masía Cultura en Libertad, which aims to "promote free thought and living culture, outside of official and pro-government channels". Under the direction of Eva Navarro and with the sponsorship of Rolf Frischter, owner of the La Masía de Teguise restaurant, the Cesariones de La Masía Cultural Commission inaugurated its activity this Monday, which will continue over time with numerous thematic concerts by artists residing in Lanzarote.

In addition, the association will promote the holding of pictorial and sculptural exhibitions, as well as interesting debates and the monthly meeting of the book club. "We want to give artists residing in Lanzarote the opportunity from the private sphere and sponsorship, from any field of art and culture, so that they can publicize their productions", explained Eva Navarro.

Similarly, Navarro stressed that another of the objectives of the Cultural Commission "is to promote free thought and living culture with a critical and responsible vision of what is generated and done in Lanzarote". The Cesariones de La Masía Cultura en Libertad Cultural Commission is a group made up of people with different interests and concerns on the island and can be joined by all those who trust in the project.

Ito Hernández and his work

The new cultural entity has started with a pictorial exhibition by Vernissage by Annelie Carlson, which will remain hung on the walls of the La Masía de Teguise restaurant throughout the month of April. Likewise, the work of Ito Hernández is currently on display, an artist from Graciosa who uses everything he finds in the sea to develop his surprising works.

These will not be the only activities, as also specified by the owner of La Masía de Teguise, Rolf Frischter. On the terrace of this facility, and independently of the restaurant, there will be a space every weekend for good music. Thus, different concerts will be held ranging from blues, jazz and soul, to folklore or classical music.

The musical group Alex Janssen Trío, the Lanzarote timple player Alexis Lemes or the well-known pianist Pedro Carreras will be some of the artists who will meet in the coming months in the premises of the La Masía de Teguise restaurant.

Finally, Navarro pointed out that the members of the Cultural Commission will hold monthly meetings to evaluate the events held and the new programs on the first Wednesday of each month. For its part, the book club will meet on the last Saturday of the month.
