The Government of the Canary Islands has informed this Monday to the Interterritorial Health Council that it also plans to approve this week measures that reinforce the obligation to use masks, as reported to Efe by a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health.
The General Directorate of Public Health of the autonomous community is already working on a proposal of measures adapted to the situation of the Islands, bearing in mind also the cases that are occurring in several places of the Peninsula and the decisions that other regional governments have taken in this regard.
In principle, it is planned that the head of Health, Blas Trujillo, will take a proposal to the Governing Council this Thursday.
The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands recalls, in this regard, that the use of masks is already mandatory at this time, although there are a number of exceptions that will be assessed and reconsidered.
In the Interterritorial Council, Trujillo has once again insisted to the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, on the convenience of carrying out coronavirus tests at airports, selectively and on certain flights that have epidemiological interest.
