The Minister of Presidency and Security, José Miguel Ruano, has assured that the Canary Islands are currently in a state of pre-alert due to the meteorological evolution of the last few hours, which is leaving rainfall of between 15 and 20 milliliters per square meter in almost all the Islands, "which corresponds to typical autumn rains." In a press conference, the Minister explained that, although instability continues in all the Islands, the situation "should no longer worry the population."
The Canary Islands also remain on pre-alert for waves of between three and four meters, but Ruano has insisted on the "normalization" of atmospheric activity despite the heavy rains of last night in Fuerteventura, which have caused more centers to have to suspend classes not due to damage to their infrastructures, but due to problems accessing them.
In addition, the Minister put the number of educational centers in which there will be no school activity this Tuesday at around thirty more. To the 12 schools in Tenerife, which included the educational centers of San Juan de La Rambla and La Guancha, in addition to the secondary education institutes (IES) San Miguel (San Miguel de Abona), Los Cardones (San Isidro) and the IES of Los Realejos, together with the Agustín de Bethencourt and María Pérez Trujillo institutes, both in Puerto de la Cruz, and the Alonso Pérez Díaz, in Santa Cruz de la Palma, many more are added, this time many of them from the province of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
