Canal Gestión has reported that, due to the supply cut of "almost an hour" recorded this Wednesday due to an electrical failure, some areas of the island will continue to suffer water supply problems this Thursday.

Specifically, the company states that localities such as San Bartolomé, Playa Honda, Tinajo, Tao, Tiagua, Mozaga, La Santa, Soo, Muñique, Conil, Tías, La Asomada, Teseguite, Haría, Ye, Máguez, Punta Mujeres, Arrieta, Los Valles and Tahíche are being affected.

For its part, the south of the island and the nuclei of Playa Quemada, Puerto Calero, Puerto del Carmen, Arrecife and Costa Teguise "did not suffer serious incidents in the supply", according to Canal.

The company states that late on Wednesday afternoon they "managed to start up, progressively, all the racks of the different treatment plants, with the exception of a module of the Lanzarote V desalination plant, in the Central Díaz Rijo, which produces about 9,000 cubic meters", since the engine "was damaged".

"For the moment, it is impossible to fix it immediately, so it remains inoperative," he says in a statement.

Canal Gestión emphasizes that "the lack of production during practically the entire day on Wednesday, and the high consumption that continues to be recorded, caused the depletion of the reserves of the regulating tanks", being now "essential to take the necessary time for them to reach the corresponding levels again".

In addition, it insists on conveying "its concern for the serious and difficult consequences that consumers may be suffering", assuring that the company "is putting all its resources at its disposal to resolve this situation as soon as possible".

"However, it is necessary to advance that restoring total normality in the supply of the entire island will take time, effort and patience, given that it is essential that the regulating tanks are filled with optimal levels, thus allowing the usual rate of supply to be resumed," he concludes.
