The healthcare personnel of the Lanzarote Health Area, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, have been recognized by the Association of Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Atria Lanzarote, an entity that pursues equality and equity for women in all areas of society, for the early cancer diagnosis programs for breast cancer, colon cancer prevention, and cervical cancer developed by the professional teams of the different services.
This Friday, November 29, an institutional event was held in which, under the title 'Prevention: Your ally in the race of life', this award was presented to the staff of the island.

Organized at the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, the event was attended by the Director of Quality of the Lanzarote Health Services Management, María Hernández Yánez, and various specialists from the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital.
In addition, the head of the Digestive System section of the center, Rubén Berenguer, the head of the Pediatrics service, Concepción Pérez, and the oncologist Adriel Rodríguez, gave different talks related to the activity carried out by healthcare professionals and the action protocols used in the prevention of diseases such as cervical, colon, and breast cancer.
Finally, the Director of Quality, the president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, María Dolores Lasso, and the specialists participated in a round table open to the public.
During the event, María Hernández Yánez thanked for this recognition, which "is motivating in the daily performance of our professional work and underlines the commitment of the entire team to the health care of the Lanzarote society, in addition to highlighting the human dimension of healthcare workers."
