Almost 60% of Lanzarote's target population has two doses of the vaccine

The island continues to be ahead of the regional and national average, although the rate of vaccination has decreased. For its part, the Canary Islands continues to be one of the most lagging communities in Spain

Covid-19 Vaccination at the Insular Hospital

59.3% of the target population of Lanzarote, which has been increased to include the population of 12 and 15 years old, already has two doses of the vaccine against the coronavirus and 71% have at least one. In addition, in the age group between 20 and 29 years old, there are already about 19% with at least one dose. 

The island continues to be ahead of the regional and national average, although the rate of vaccination has decreased in recent weeks. And, after having administered almost 3,000 vaccines daily, this figure has been reduced well below 2,000. Specifically, in the last eight days, 11,886 doses of vaccines against Covid have been administered in Lanzarote, which represents an average of 1,485 daily. A number that is even below those administered the previous week, when in eight days 13,956 doses had been given, an average of about 1,750 daily.

According to data provided by the Lanzarote Health Area, of the 11,866 doses administered in the last eight days, 4,302 were first doses and 7,740 were second doses.

By age group, those over 80 years of age have already completed the vaccination schedule at 100% for weeks, while the group of 70 to 79 years of age is at 95.9% with two doses. As for the group of 60 to 69 years, there are 80.5% with the complete schedule and 93% with at least one dose. 

In the age group of 50 to 59 years of age, 86.4% have already reached two doses and there are 88.8% with at least one, and in the 40 to 49 years of age group, 72.5% of the population is with the complete vaccination schedule and 77% with at least one dose of the vaccine. 

For its part, the percentage of vaccinated with at least one dose among the population of 30 to 39 years is 62.3% while in this group there are already 51,% who have received the two doses. As for the age group of 20 to 29 years, there are 15.9% with the complete schedule and 49.3% with at least one dose. 

Finally, among those under 20 years of age, there are already 18.7% who have received at least one dose and 1.7% who have both.

 


Canary Islands remains at the bottom of Spain in vaccination

In the Canary Islands as a whole, 2,101,046 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 of the 2,359,310 received had been administered until Monday. With this, it had been possible to immunize 927,997 people, which represents 47.33 percent of the target population over 12 years. As for the number of people who had received at least one dose amounted to 1,271,735 people, ie 64.86 percent of the target population.

 In this regard, the Ministry of Health pointed out that, by incorporating people from 12 to 15 years of age into the National Vaccination Strategy against Covid-19, the target population has been increased by 215,178 in the archipelago, so that it now amounts to a total of 1,960,774 people

The vaccination figures in the Canary Islands continue to place it as one of the most lagging communities, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health. This includes vaccination data until Sunday, when the percentage of vaccinated in the Canary Islands with at least one dose was 63.8% and with the complete schedule of 46.9%.

As for the percentage of population that has at least one dose, the Canary Islands was at the bottom along with the Balearic Islands, which also had 63.8%. For its part, Asturias was in the lead with 73.8%, followed by the Basque Country with 70.4%. The national average stood at 67%. 

With respect to people who have already received the complete schedule, the Canary Islands had the lowest figure, again below the national average, which stood at 52.6%. In the Balearic Islands the percentage was 48.1% and Asturias was also the most advanced community with 62.8%, although in this case followed by Galicia, with 61.6%.

 

Appointment for the vaccine for those over 16 years in Lanzarote

In the case of Lanzarote, those residents on the island over 16 years who have not yet been summoned for the first dose of the vaccine can now make an appointment by calling 928 47 89 50, operating from Monday to Sunday from 08:00 hours to 20:00 hours. Also, according to the Ministry of Health, people in these age groups, born in 2005 or before that date, can also make this request in the miCitaPrevia section of the miSCS website, the portal of personalized digital services for users of the Canarian Health Service.

The rest of the population residing on the island under 16 years of age may continue to process their prior appointment for vaccination through the web form canariassevacuna.com. In this tool the user fills out a form filling in the fields of full name, ID or CIP of the health card, and mobile phone contact. This information is checked against the database of health cards and the SCS will contact the user to process their appointment for vaccination at one of the points enabled throughout the Canary Islands.

The appointment is scheduled according to the age group of the user, the forecasts of progress of the vaccination calendar and the opening of each of the age groups of vaccination. In this way, the order of priority by groups set in the vaccination strategy will continue to be maintained.
