The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has maintained orange warnings in Lanzarote for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday due to high temperatures, where it foresees that the population is at significant risk. In addition, the presence of suspended dust from the Sahara Desert requires the establishment of yellow warnings as well.

For this Friday, between 11:00 a.m. and 7:59 p.m., temperatures are expected to reach 38 degrees.

The southern half of the island will be the most affected by the rise in temperature, according to the Aemet forecast. Likewise, the high presence of suspended dust has forced the maintenance of the yellow warning for haze, mainly affecting high areas and southern slopes, but where a visibility of 3,000 meters will be maintained.

The forecast will not improve for this Saturday either, where 40 degrees may be reached or exceeded. The highest risk time slot for the first day of the weekend will also be between 11 a.m. and 7:59 p.m. However, the whole day will be affected by the presence of suspended dust.

On Sunday, orange warnings will remain in place for extreme temperatures of up to 38 degrees. The haze will also not leave the island during this period.
