A new death has occurred this Tuesday on the Canary Route, one of the deadliest migratory routes in the world. The Salvamar Al Nair has rescued 53 people who were traveling aboard an inflatable boat near Los Cocoteros. Among them, a pregnant woman who had died.
A fishing boat kept the occupants of the precarious boat safe, with seven women and three minors on board, and offered them cookies and water while the Maritime Rescue and Civil Guard of Costa Teguise arrived. The Salvamar intercepted the inflatable boat at 9:55 a.m., in territorial waters less than a kilometer from the coast of Lanzarote.

The Salvamar Al Nair transferred all the occupants of the boat to its deck and headed with them to the port of Arrecife, to offer them first assistance and lift the body of the deceased. At about 11:00 a.m. they reached the commercial dock.
With this, there are already three boats that have arrived on the island in the last 24 hours. The first with fatalities.
