The San Isidro Labrador festivities came to an end last Sunday with the celebration of a popular barbecue that featured the performance of the band Los Salineros de La Hoya. But before closing the festivities, the southerners enjoyed a weekend that began with the religious procession on Friday and continued with the celebration of International Family Day.
Thus, on Friday night, after the religious act, the II Uga Youth Gala 2009 was held, which featured the performance of several singers from the municipality, the Dance Pop ballet, the Arrecife Danzlanz Municipal School, the modern dance workshop group from Tinajo, the European champions of artistic dance, Serafín and Estefanía, and the Cuban salsa dance group from Anmy Rodríguez.
The following day, Saturday, the gymkhana took place, with the participation of three teams composed of six members each. All of them played on the zip line, catching a piglet in a mud pit blindfolded, crossing a pool over a board, archery, throwing water balloons, the American track and the popular game of rope.
