The letter "Figuras amorosas, figuras literarias", by the Catalan José Ángel Guzmán Pérez, was awarded the first prize in the Love and Heartbreak Letters contest "Los Novios de El Mojón", a competition that celebrates its fourth edition and is convened by the Department of Culture of the Teguise City Council.
A total of 195 works competed in this edition to be eligible for one of the first prizes. The second project best valued by the jury corresponded to María Matilde Corredera from Lanzarote, while the third prize went to Jonathan Hazout Jiménez, 28 years old and a native of Valencia.
The journalist Saúl García Crespo, spokesperson for the jury, highlighted the originality and literary quality of the winning letter and assured that many of the works had "a character of heartbreak". The jury was also composed of Hernández, reader and transcriber, and the Literature professor Juan Pérez, while the decision of the contest was announced by the Councilor for Culture of the Teguise City Council, Noelia Umpiérrez.
