It will take place between July 16 and 30 with the participation of a total of 18 young people between 18 and 30 years old, from different parts of the national geography (Andalusia, Madrid, Tenerife, Valencia, Murcia, Castilla la Mancha, the Basque Country, Asturias, Catalonia, Castilla y León). The work camp is organized by the Departments of Youth and Environment, with the collaboration of Public Works and Services and is subsidized by the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs of the Government of the Canary Islands.
A foreman, a gardener and a monitor will participate in this project, which will also have the collaboration of Tourism and Environment monitors, 3 drivers and a Heritage monitor. In addition, the Citizen Participation Workshop will join the initiative, which will work basically with two projects, the first of which will be carried out from this Tuesday, dynamizing through participation, presentation and cohesion, and another of the projects that will be carried out is "Lanzarote from your eyes", where young people through cameras, will take pictures and then a presentation and debate will be held.
This Tuesday they were received by the Councilor for Youth, Culture and Heritage, Dolores Corujo and the Councilor for the Environment, Aurea de Mauri, who explained how the project will be developed in these two weeks. The work of these young people begins with some theoretical classes to acquire basic knowledge about the work they are going to do, to later prepare the land, clear the ground and clean the land, design the distribution of plants and trees that they will later plant and carry out maintenance work on the flora in the environment.
In addition to working, these kids will also have time to enjoy Lanzarote through the environmental education activity agenda planned for them and which includes visits to the protected landscape of La Geria, the site of scientific interest Las Salinas del Janubio, the natural monuments of Los Ajaches and the Volcán de la Corona, among others. Cultural activities are not left aside on this trip because they will get to know the historic center of Teguise, the César Manrique Foundation, the Emigrant Museum and the El Patio Agricultural and Ethnographic Museum.
