The town of Tinajo is still in luck. After becoming the first municipality in Lanzarote that UNICEF considers a 'Child Friendly City', and being a finalist, two years ago, to become the 'Capital of Rural Tourism', it has now obtained two nominations, in the categories of 'Best Sustainable Town' and 'Best Cultural Town', in the II edition of the 'Town of the Year Awards'.

The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, makes "a call to all those who feel linked in any way to our beloved Tinajo, on behalf of the rest of the government group and the neighborhood of Tinajo, to support its candidacy for the Town of the Year Awards. This double candidacy recognizes all the virtues that a place like Tinajo offers, both to its inhabitants and to all those people who visit us. It is a way of recognizing the extraordinary cultural and natural value that Tinajo has," says the mayor.

The councilor of the area, Coraima Morales Quintero, explains that "the satisfaction and pride that this double candidacy gives us Tinajeros is indescribable. Tinajo continues to grow and has an upward line that translates into improving, year after year, both as a place of residence and as a place to visit at any time of the year."

From the City Council of Tinajo they invite citizens to "vote for Tinajo and that our town gets the more than deserved award as 'Best Sustainable Town' and 'Best Cultural Town' in the II edition of the 'Town of the Year Awards'.

The popular vote will be active until next February 29 through the web and you can vote for the candidacy of Tinajo in the following link or through the QR code of the image. Participation is limited to a single vote per person per day in each of the categories of the contest. Finally, the jury will choose the winner of each category, which will be the one that has obtained the most votes in the popular vote.
