January marked a significant milestone for pedagogy and psychopedagogy with the celebration of the 'Constituent Assemblies' in the province of Las Palmas and Tenerife. This double event gave rise to the 'Professional Associations of Pedagogy and Psychopedagogy' in both provinces, thus consolidating the collegiate presence in the archipelago.

The Canary Islands are now facing a new stage with the simultaneous creation of the two associations, which reinforces the collegiate presence throughout the territory. Last Friday, January 12, Tenerife hosted the Constituent Assembly at the Faculty of Education of the ULL, followed by the official constitution last Saturday, January 13 at the Faculty of Sciences ULPGC. With the Constituent Assemblies, a phase focused on the provision of resources, the opening to membership and the deployment of essential services is inaugurated.

The main purpose of these associations is to "safeguard the interests" of pedagogy and psychopedagogy professionals in the Canary Islands, providing a "specialized training offer", facilitating selection processes and offering services of interest to members. The creation of these associations represents a "crucial step" for the professionalization of education in the Canary Islands.

The governing board, made up of prominent professionals in the field, is now dedicated to materializing the vision of the associations, promoting the participation of members, consolidating strategic alliances with different public and private entities.

This new stage, full of possibilities, is presented as an "inclusive commitment" that encompasses all sectors of activity. The Canary Islands are preparing to lead initiatives that will promote understanding, innovation and inclusion in educational practice, thus marking a significant milestone in the transformation of the educational landscape in the archipelago.
