The team of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports analyzes, among the possible measures against the heat in the educational centers of the islands, the possibility of reducing the school day or conducting online classes.

This was stated to the media this Thursday by the Minister of the area, Poli Suárez, during a visit to a public school in Telde, according to statements provided by the Ministry.

Suárez said that "very important issues" have been advanced in that protocol and that a "first draft will be sent next week to other involved ministries", such as the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Security and Emergencies, as well as to the educational community, since the aim is to achieve "the greatest consensus" possible, not only in the regional Parliament.

Suárez said that among the issues that have been discussed is that each of the centers in the Canary Islands has "a self-protection plan", but also analyzed "returning to give classes remotely" or the possibility of "reducing the school day", issues that have already been raised in other autonomous communities.

"We have to study all those measures that other communities are carrying out in order to implement them with our own protocol," Suárez said.
