The Deputy Minister of Health meets with the Management of Health Services of Lanzarote

The meeting addressed healthcare activity, human resource management, and infrastructure and equipment planning for the Management.

The Deputy Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands and Director of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS), Carlos Díaz, met with the manager of the Health Services of the Lanzarote Health Area, Pablo Eguía, in a working meeting held at the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital to address and analyze healthcare activity, human resource management, and infrastructure and equipment planning.

The meeting addressed the measures implemented by the Management to increase activity and reduce waiting lists, and reviewed the planning and management of the Management's centers, the projects and works to be carried out in the coming months, and the incorporation of new specialists into the hospital's services and Primary Care health centers.

 

Visit to the Valterra Radiology room

In addition, the Deputy Minister of Health, Carlos Díaz, accompanied by the manager and directors of Primary Care of the Management, visited the remodeled Radiology room of the Valterra Health Center.

This device will be operational again from this Monday, February 10, after the completion of the adaptation works for the installation of a new, fully digital and robotized radiodiagnostic equipment.

The room is part of the Radiology service of the Molina Orosa Hospital and plays a fundamental role in complementing the center's Emergency service. During the year 2023, a total of 21,826 radiographs were performed in this space.

The works, with a budget of 88,777 euros, have improved the space, made changes to the distribution of the room, reviewed the shielding of enclosures and carpentry, and carried out structural reinforcements, as well as improvements to the electricity, communications, and air conditioning installations.

 

Professional Meeting

During his visit to Lanzarote, the Deputy Minister and Director of the SCS participated in a working meeting between the human resources professionals of the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital Complex and the Lanzarote Health Management.

This initiative aims to promote the exchange of experiences and multidisciplinary collaboration in the processes and procedures with which the professionals of both departments work.
