El Reducto beach, in the center of Arrecife, has opened to the public this Friday after the red flag waved for nine days. Bathing in this coastal area was temporarily prohibited on November 22nd due to the presence of sewage.

The Sanitary Surveillance Program for Bathing Water Areas of the Canary Islands, carried out by the General Directorate of Public Health of the Canary Islands Government, informed the council at the end of last month that it advised against swimming at this beach, and that bathing be temporarily prohibited.

The presence of sewage near this area in the capital of Lanzarote is located at the Submarine Outfall next to Punta del Camello.
