El Reducto beach remains closed to swimming due to "water quality", according to the Emergency Consortium.

Last Wednesday, November 22, the City Council placed informative posters advising against swimming in the sea and raising the red flag, which continued this Monday, four days later.

The City Council explained that the Canary Islands Bathing Water Areas Sanitary Surveillance program, carried out by the General Directorate of Public Health of the Canary Islands Government, announced on Wednesday that swimming on this beach was not recommended, and that swimming should be temporarily prohibited.

The Department of Beaches is in direct contact with Public Health to find out the results of the new analyses and determine when this preventive ban will be lifted.

The origin of the poor water quality is unknown, it could be the Punta del Camello outfall or the works being carried out on Avenida Fred Olsen.
