The National Police and the Local Police of Arrecife have arrested this Monday afternoon two young men, aged 26 and 28, as alleged perpetrators of the theft of a mobile phone from a taxi driver and an assault by kicking and punching a man in the center of Arrecife. The two victims were treated for a fracture in the bones of the nose and the woman for an anxiety crisis.
The event occurred around three in the afternoon at the confluence of Tenerife, Fajardo and Cienfuegos streets. One of the two young men had allegedly stolen the mobile phone on Triana street from a woman who works as a taxi driver. The victim followed them asking for help and a person who was leaving a dental clinic tried to recover the phone, even having a dialogue with one of the two young men.
However, it all ended with an aggression. One of the neighbors recorded how the two aggressors gave a strong kick and several punches in the face to the man who tried to prevent the robbery.
