The Mayor of Teguise, Juan Pedro Hernández, convened a Security Board with the Civil Guard and the Local Police of the municipality due to the increase in thefts of agricultural products in the Los Valles area. This meeting resulted in the commitment of both bodies to increase control and surveillance of the area.

According to the Councilor for Local Police of the Teguise City Council, Marisol Armas, "inspection and caution will be especially increased these days, when most farmers are harvesting potatoes."

This device is launched after many residents of the area complained that tubers were being stolen from them in very high quantities, which in some cases exceeded 150 kilograms.

The councilor continues to encourage the residents of the municipality affected by the theft of potatoes to file a complaint with the Local Police to reinforce control, since the official documentation would allow requesting that this surveillance be permanent in the future.
