The Local Police of Arrecife intervenes with minors in a situation of social risk

These are three children between two months and 14 years old, five have entered Cabildo protection centers and one has been taken care of by a direct relative.

The Minors and Family Unit (UMEF) of the Local Police of Arrecife, in collaboration with the Specialized Team for Attention to Children and Families of the Arrecife City Council, and upon request for collaboration and intervention by the specialized team, have intervened in the situation of risk of six minors, from three different family units, aged between two months and 14 years and all involved in administrative protection files.

The interventions have been carried out during the months of October and November, with five of the minors being taken in by protection centers dependent on the Cabildo de Lanzarote, and one with direct relatives of the minor, all in order to guarantee the well-being of the minors at all times.

The Minors and Family Unit (UMEF) of the Local Police of Arrecife is made up of several agents, with specific training in the care and protection of victims of gender violence and with specific training in prevention, detection and action with minors in contexts of exclusion.

These agents continue with permanent training in both areas, all in order to provide a response in accordance with the existing needs in today's society in terms of gender violence and protection of children and adolescents against all types of violence.
