The Local Police of Arrecife arrested three people in the early hours of this Tuesday after being caught "red-handed" committing robberies in vehicles, as reported by the City Council. According to the police report, around one o'clock in the morning this Tuesday, the agents who were carrying out surveillance work on the Rambla Medular, near the bus station, observed two people acting suspiciously next to a vehicle that was parked in the place.
After the police officers approached the vehicle, they observed that the rear window was broken, and one of the individuals was searching the trunk, while another was sitting in the driver's seat, manipulating the starting system. Upon noticing the police presence, both people fled and, after a chase on foot, were arrested, with one of the agents suffering minor injuries. The detainees were identified as M.C. and S.A.M., 24 and 26 years old, respectively, and natives of Morocco.
Later, at approximately 05:15 in the morning, the Local Police arrested another individual, identified as L.N., 38 years old, and also of Moroccan origin, "after noticing his attempted theft of a vehicle." In this sense, the agents were able to verify how the detainee threw one of the car's headlights to the ground, as well as a screwdriver and a wrench. Given this, they proceeded to his arrest and transfer to the police station for identification, since he lacked documentation.
