The Civil Guard has sealed off this Friday the house where the young woman who has been missing for eleven days lived with her husband. Agents of the Benemérita have come to the house, located in Costa Teguise, where they plan to carry out a search to advance the investigation.
Romina Celeste Núñez has been missing since January 1, although her disappearance was not reported by her husband until a week later. This was confirmed by himself to this media, stating that if he had not reported it before it was because "it is not the first time" that his wife disappears and he thought that "she had left" the house voluntarily.
The complaint was filed on January 8, after Romina Celeste's family, who is from Paraguay, contacted her husband after not hearing from her since December 31. According to her aunt told La Voz, she called her son every day, who is in Paraguay with his grandparents. "Until the 7th I have no knowledge that she had not spoken to her family either and that is when I really get alarmed", said the husband of the missing young woman.
A "very strong discussion" that the husband denies
"He hadn't said anything. He hadn't called the mother or anyone," said the young woman's aunt, who said that the husband had told them that in the early morning of December 31 to January 1 "they had had a very strong discussion because she had asked him for money to go to Paraguay to bring the child" and that he "left the house and left her there so as not to argue anymore." "And he says that he returned the next day at 3:00 p.m. and that she was no longer in the house," said the young woman's aunt.
However, Romina Celeste's husband denied to La Voz that it had been a discussion what he had with his wife. "To avoid a discussion is why I leave the house at about 5 or 6 in the morning," said the young woman's spouse, assuring that when he returned to the house his wife was no longer there "and neither was a large part of her clothes nor a black travel backpack." "She didn't have her toiletries either and neither did her cell phone and my personal one," said the husband, who also pointed out that "some cash that was in the house" was missing. "And I called her, sent messages to my cell phone, to hers and she didn't answer me," he said, noting that this is how he understood that the young woman "had left."
