The Civil Guard has requested citizen collaboration to find out what happened with the abandonment of a human fetus that was located last June by workers at a treatment plant in the Arinaga Industrial Estate (Gran Canaria).

In a statement, the Benemérita explained that the events took place on the 1st of the aforementioned month when at around 12:00 hours a notice was received alerting of the discovery of a fetus of about 26 centimeters with remains of the placenta and umbilical cord in one of the manholes of the plant.

In this regard, after the relevant forensic examination, the Institute of Legal Medicine of Las Palmas has estimated that its age is about 5 or 6 months, its physical features corresponding to a Caucasian male who was not born.

In this sense, the relevant biological samples have been taken by the Laboratory and Criminalistics Unit of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police, which would be compared with the people suspected of such an event.

Currently, the investigation indicates that the fetus could have been abandoned in the towns of Vecindario or Cruce de Arinaga during the early morning or morning of June 1.

Therefore, the Civil Guard has requested collaboration from anyone who can provide new evidence to clarify said abandonment.

Anyone who has any information about the matter can contact the People and Homicide Team of the Benemérita through the telephone number 928 32 04 00 (extensions 283 and 323) and the email address gc-cmd-palmasgrancanaria-pjpersonas@guardiacivil.org.
