The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Yaiza, on the island of Lanzarote, assisted this Tuesday afternoon a 39-year-old foreign woman in Playa Blanca. The agents found her unconscious and with a blow to the head "from which quite a lot of blood was flowing", for which she had to be transferred to the Negrín hospital in Gran Canaria. Although they point out that "everything points to an accidental fall", the agents are investigating what happened to her.
Unable to contact her mother since Monday afternoon, a woman alerted the emergency services around noon last Tuesday, explains the Civil Guard. Thus, a patrol went "immediately to the address provided, which corresponded to a house or chalet".
After arriving at the place, the agents verified how the house had all the accesses closed and nobody answered the call of the bell. However, "los agents were able to observe through the crystals of one of the doors one of the extremities of a person lying on the floor of the house", relates the Benemérita.
The agents stabilized her following the indications of a doctor while the ambulance arrived
Thus, "given the risk that the physical integrity of that person could entail", the agents decided to force the entrance door. Once inside, they found the woman "unconscious and with a strong blow to the head from which quite a lot of blood was flowing" on the floor of the living room.
The guards then requested the presence of sanitary resources and, while waiting for their arrival, attending to the indications of a doctor of the 112 emergency service, the agents stabilized the woman.
After being attended by the paramedics of the ambulance moved to the place, the woman was transferred to the Health Center of Playa Blanca, to be later transferred to the General Hospital of Arrecife, from where she was definitively taken to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín, where she is currently located.
The Benemérita has also indicated that the agents of the Territorial Team of Judicial Police of Tías are currently investigating the circumstances of the event, although "the evidence collected to date points to an accidental fall of the assisted woman".
