The Civil Guard of San Bartolomé has arrested two people for the theft of a forklift in the Playa Honda Industrial Estate and its subsequent sale. The first of those arrested, whose initials are J.T., is 37 years old and has numerous police records against property. The arrests took place between October 31 and December 22.
At the beginning of October, a complaint was filed with the Civil Guard of San Bartolomé for the theft of a forklift from outside one of the warehouses in the industrial estate.
After the first investigations, it was possible to identify the person who took the forklift, being J.T. He was arrested on October 31 as the alleged perpetrator of a alleged crime of robbery or theft and use of a motor vehicle.
Location and second arrest
At the time of his arrest, J.T. no longer had the aforementioned forklift in his possession, so the agents of the Investigation Area carried out the appropriate procedures for its location without the collaboration of the detainee.
After two months following different lines of investigation, the civil guards managed to locate the forklift in a warehouse in an industrial estate in Fuerteventura, requesting the collaboration of the agents of the Civil Guard of the Post of Puerto del Rosario, who recovered the forklift in the El Matorral industrial estate.
In parallel, and after taking the statement of the person in charge of the warehouse, the Civil Guard arrested a second person in Lanzarote on December 22, with the initials L.L. and without a criminal record, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of receiving stolen goods. According to reports from the security force, this person bought the stolen forklift for a price much lower than the market price to later transfer it to the industrial warehouse in Fuerteventura.
