The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise arrested last Friday the man J.M.G.C., 44 years old and resident of Tahiche (Teguise), accused of several robberies committed earlier this year.

In the months of January and February, three robberies with scaling and force occurred in houses and properties in the towns of Teseguite and Los Lajares, in the municipalities of Teguise and Haría, where the perpetrator of these acts stole a large number of items valued at 10,000 euros.

The initial investigations did not provide clues and evidence to clarify these robberies, but the Civil Guard did not forget these cases and on Friday, two home searches were carried out in Guatiza and another in Tahiche, managing to recover a significant amount of stolen items and arresting the alleged perpetrator.

It so happens that one of the houses where one of these robberies was committed is owned by Dimas Martín (former president of the Island Council of Lanzarote), from whom various furniture and effects of certain value were stolen. Among the belongings recovered yesterday, goods and belongings of this person were seized, which will be returned to his son and current mayor of the City Council of Teguise.

The detainee will be brought to justice in the next few hours.
