The man who disappeared last Saturday in the Pechiguera area has been found dead at sea, northwest of Fuerteventura. As confirmed by the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, his body has been collected by the Salvamar boat.
The deceased is a 38-year-old Romanian citizen who was on the island with his family. It was precisely his relatives who notified the Civil Guard, when they saw that he did not return home, after telling them that he was going fishing on the south coast of the island.
The search was officially activated on Sunday and continued unsuccessfully throughout the day, adding the complication of not knowing the exact area in which he was fishing. The operation was launched again this Monday, when the worst omens have finally been confirmed, and his lifeless body has been found.
