The Civil Guard has arrested a man in Puerto del Carmen accused of several crimes of robbery with force, document forgery, injuries and assault against an authority figure, since at the time of his arrest he attacked a civil guard, causing a head wound that required 15 stitches.According to the Civil Guard, the detainee "has up to 27 different identities, all of them false", and also has an expulsion order from the national territory.

The investigation that led to this arrest was carried out by the Civil Guard of the main post of Tías, which had evidence of "an increase in robberies committed since the beginning of October in the tourist area of Puerto del Carmen". As a result of the operation they established in the area, on November 4 they caught "in fraganti" a man, a foreigner with the initials Z.M., "while he was committing a robbery in a villa in a tourist complex".

According to the Civil Guard, "at the time of his arrest, Z.M. violently resisted, physically assaulting a member of the Benemérita, who had to be subsequently admitted to a health center with a head wound that required 15 stitches."

False identity and judicial order

At the time of the arrest, and during the processing of the corresponding police proceedings, the Civil Guard verified that Z.M. had identified himself with false documentation, a Belgian identity card, and also had 27 more identities, all false.

In turn, the detainee had a judicial order issued by the Criminal Court number 1 of the town of Arrecife, and he also had an expulsion order from the national territory, issued by the Subdelegation of the Government of the province of Salamanca.

With this arrest, the Civil Guard points out that it has clarified 5 cases of robberies in Puerto del Carmen, "while part of the stolen goods have been recovered, which have already been returned to their rightful owners." In addition, the investigation remains open, and further arrests for these events are not ruled out.

The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court in charge of the guard of the town of Arrecife, entering preventive prison.
