The Haría Local Police reported this Thursday an infraction committed by a vehicle that was circulating with one of its occupants sitting on top of the car door, with their body outside, and recording with a camera attached to a stick.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, pointed out that "this type of action endangers all people who are circulating and cannot go unpunished, so the authorities are aware of eradicating them." The Haría Town Council appeals to the awareness of citizens and tourists who visit the municipality to avoid negligence on the Island's roads and, consequently, traffic accidents.
Similarly, the first deputy mayor and councilor of the Local Police, Chaxiraxi Niz, congratulated the intervention of the agents who intercepted the vehicle that was endangering their integrity and that of others and insisted that in these cases, sanctioning measures must be taken to avoid similar situations from happening more often as much as possible.
The head of the Local Police, Félix Barrios, explained that the incident took place on the LZ-1 road, at its intersection with the LZ-201, where two vehicles were identified, one of which had a person sitting on the car door, with the window down and the body outside on the left side, which made the infraction even more dangerous since it was on the side of the other vehicles that were coming in the opposite direction.
"We stopped them and notified the Civil Guard, and then fined the driver for negligent driving and the passenger who was recording for not wearing a seatbelt. The occupants understood and paid the fine, but we cannot overlook this type of infraction," Félix Barrios detailed.
