The strong waves and current have forced the raising of the red flag in Playa Chica, a popular diving spot on the island. This was reported by the Security and Emergency Consortium this Monday.

The aforementioned beach of Puerto del Carmen, located in the municipality of Tías, is affected by currents. In addition, the Government of the Canary Islands has declared a pre-alert for wind in Lanzarote and the rest of the Archipelago.

The regional Executive has activated the Specific Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Care of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands due to Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA). Thus, it expects wind from the south component turning to the west, which will have a strong impact from the southwest, turning to the west.
