Acaip reports to the Labor Inspectorate the lack of protective equipment in the Tahíche prison in the face of Covid-19

The Tahíche prison has once again been the scene of a new incident this Tuesday, after the one registered last weekend. In this case, an inmate in isolation has burned the mattress of his cell and, when two officials have come, he has pounced on one of the workers to try to attack him.

The events took place in the isolation module at around 10:40 a.m. From the ACAIP union they point out that it is the same inmate who starred two days ago violent acts against the workers of the penitentiary center, and who was in the isolation department.

As a result of smoke inhalation, both the prisoner in isolation and another inmate, who was performing support functions, have had to be transferred to the hospital.

From the union they point out that once again, violent acts are taking place, carried out by especially conflictive inmates, who have been transferred from other islands, which causes the coexistence between inmates to be “especially disturbed”.
