Firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium rescued a 79-year-old man who was trapped in his vehicle after suffering an accident this past Saturday afternoon.
The events took place on the LZ-34 in Teguise. In the rear-end collision, there were two vehicles involved that remained on all 4 wheels.
Local Police and the Canary Islands Emergency Service were at the scene. SUC personnel were immobilizing the leg of the co-driver of one of the vehicles, a 79-year-old man from Arrecife, who was in the co-driver's seat.
When the health services authorized it, the firefighters proceeded to extract the injured man with the help of the spinal board, to later pass him to the vacuum mattress and evacuate him to the Dr. José Molina Orosa hospital.
