The National Police in Arrecife have arrested a man, who has a police record, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of receiving stolen goods.

The police officers carried out an inspection of the establishment dedicated to the purchase and sale of jewelry and precious metals. They detected several irregularities that violated the legal obligations established in the Regulations of the Law on Objects Made with Precious Metals.

The investigators managed to identify a gold chain that the owner of the establishment had allegedly acquired fraudulently and had subsequently put up for sale after a reasonable time.

After this discovery, the agents were able to clarify that said gold chain came from a case of robbery with violence perpetrated at the end of 2023.

Once the police proceedings were completed, the arrested person was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, although the investigation remains open and further arrests are not ruled out.
