The passengers of the Iberia plane that aborted takeoff on Wednesday morning have been relocated to a flight 17 hours later and still have not received any explanation from the airline: "They have left the passengers stranded all day at the airport", says a passenger on the flight to Madrid.

"Many people have missed connections," explains the passenger. "There are elderly people who don't know how to claim and there is no one to explain anything to you," he adds. "In fact, I was traveling to Istanbul and I had to get a new flight for tomorrow from Madrid to Istanbul," he points out.

The passenger criticizes that the only thing he has received is a notification on his mobile phone from Iberia informing him that his plane will depart in the early hours of Thursday. "They have sent me an email telling me that the flight has been rescheduled to 00.15 hours at night," he explains.

The incident occurred at 07.20 hours at the César Manrique airport on a flight to Madrid from Lanzarote, when the plane braked suddenly on the runway when they were already taxiing for takeoff.

According to one of the travelers, the pilot explained to La Voz that "automatically the plane brakes for safety when it detects an error because the runway is very small" but that then he "takes the controls manually to lighten the brakes and prevent it from stopping so abruptly".

Afterwards, the travelers were transferred back to the terminal, where they were told that they were "waiting to see what the mechanic said about the alarm that had gone off". For the moment, "they cannot confirm whether it is a computer error or another problem", the passenger pointed out.
