Officials of the X Police Intervention Unit (UIP) and the Local Citizen Security Brigade of the National Police have arrested this past weekend, in an operation in which 11 kilos of hashish have been seized, two men and two women as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking crime.
According to a police statement, the agents established a device for the prevention and eradication of petty drug trafficking in the capital's Titerroy neighborhood. As a result of said device and efforts made by the Narcotics Group of the Arrecife Police Station, it was possible to arrest Lázaro P.L., a native and resident of Arrecife, 38 years old, who has 12 previous arrests for crimes against property, threats and forgery of documents.
Continuing with the police efforts, the acting officers also arrested Virginia R.V., a native of Las Palmas and resident of Arrecife, 24 years old, Román A.B., a native of San Bartolomé, a resident of Arrecife and 34 years old - who had 7 other arrests for drug trafficking, theft and resistance - and his wife Susana P.R., a native and resident of Arrecife, 29 years old, who also has two arrests for drug trafficking.
The agents of the Narcotics Group requested entry and search warrants to inspect the homes of Virginia R.V., and Román Tomás A.B. and his wife Susana P.R. And as a result of these searches, the National Police seized a total of 11 kilos of hashish, and in smaller quantities other narcotics and psychotropic drugs, 8 cell phones and various knives, baseball bats, defenses, etc.
Once the pertinent police proceedings were completed, the detainees, together with what was seized, were placed at the disposal of the Duty Court.
