Firefighters rescued this Friday two people who were in a house in Arrecife where a fire had occurred. Once outside the burning building, these two people assured that they were fine, so they declined to receive medical assistance.
Around seven in the morning, a call was received at Cecoes alerting of a fire that originated in an abandoned house on Pérez Galdós Street in the capital of Lanzarote. Upon arriving at the scene, the firefighters began to extinguish the fire and check if there was anyone inside, since it is an abandoned house that is usually used by homeless people.
The firefighters found these two people in a room, who were immediately rescued with the help of the rapid rescue team. Outside were already the paramedics from the ambulance of the Canary Emergency Service that had traveled to the place, although finally these two people did not want to be attended to, as Cecoes told La Voz.
As explained by the Security and Emergency Consortium, the fire had originated in two different outbreaks. Despite this, they pointed out that these were rooms with little furniture, given that the house is abandoned, which has prevented the flames from spreading more quickly. After helping these two people, the firefighters completely extinguished the fire.
