Firefighters had to extinguish the fire of four containers in Arrecife and Playa Blanca in the early hours of this Sunday, January 1.
The first action was at 01.30 hours when they were alerted to the fire of a container in Las Palmas street in Playa Blanca. It was a container of organic waste that burned completely, becoming unusable.
Hours later, they were alerted by the CECOES of the fire in three containers in Francisco Matallana Cabrera street in Arrecife. These were three containers, two for collecting organic waste and one for glass. The firefighters used about 800 liters of water for its extinction. They were completely burned.
Fire in a palm tree
In addition, firefighters had to act on the night of December 31 in the fire of a palm tree in the capital of Lanzarote. The fire occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on Tres de Mayo street.
The palm tree was about 7 meters high and was burning in its crown, so the firefighters used the aerial ladder to reach it and extinguish it. The Local Police also went to the scene.
