Agents of the National Police Corps attached to the Superior Headquarters of Police of the Canary Islands have proceeded, in recent dates, to the arrest of Yeray de la Cruz G. S. of 20 years old, native of Las Palmas, with more than 17 antecedents for diverse crimes against the property, as alleged author of three crimes of robbery with force and a frustrated robbery with violence in the person of a taxi driver of the Canarian locality of Maspalomas.
The facts happened in the brief space of two hours, from 5 to 7 in the morning, when the now detained initiated his route going to some apartments located in the Avenue of Italy, climbing a balcony to enter in a room from where he stole effects for the value of 2,000 euros.
Later he repeated the same operation and with equal procedure (with climbing), in other apartments located in the Avenue of Gran Canaria where he stole a wallet with money and cards heading to another building of nearby apartments and again climbing a balcony, he stole a mobile phone, a valuable watch and a digital camera.
Finally, in Escorial street he took a cab indicating to the driver his intention to go to the locality of Arguineguín. During the journey he threatened the taxi driver telling him that he was carrying a knife and that he would give him all the collection, not achieving this purpose because he was not carrying more than a few coins, before which he reacted breaking the front moon of the vehicle, moment that the taxi driver took advantage to escape, being able to give notice to the Police.
With the physical description, agents attached to the Local Brigade of Judicial Police mounted a special device for his search, being located and detained to the few minutes in the outskirts, being intervened some of the objects that he had stolen.
Paralelamente, other policemen were investigating the complaints filed by the victims, being able to verify, after the opportune investigations that the effects that the detainee was carrying were the same that had been denounced being able to be implied in the mentioned three robberies, the frustrated robbery to the taxi driver and the damages caused to the vehicle.
Together with the instructed proceedings, he was placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority that decreed his entry in prison.
