After a few weeks of calm, the burning of containers returned to Arrecife. Specifically, two organic waste collection containers and one cardboard container were affected.
First, the firefighters had to act around 11:41 p.m. on Saturday on Marqués de Santillana Street. The first to arrive at the scene were the local police officers who, together with a neighbor, tried to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher. Finally, the firefighters finished putting it out.
Around 02:28, they were alerted by the CECOEs of the fire of several containers in Democracia street in the capital of Lanzarote. The police managed to move two nearby containers, so only one cardboard and paper recycling container burned. The fire slightly affected an electrical wiring that was right above the container. The Consortium's troops put it out with water, although it was completely destroyed.
And finally, the firefighters had to act around 04:53 in the morning on Grieta street where another container was burning. The local police officers overturned the container, which prevented the fire from spreading. When the firefighters arrived, they put out the flames.
