The personnel of the Civil Protection and Firefighting Service of the Yaiza Town Council were alerted on the morning of last Wednesday by a driver whose vehicle caught fire while traveling on the LZ-2, the road that connects Yaiza and the town of Playa Blanca, near Janubio.

The rapid action of these Yaiza personnel managed to extinguish the fire and recover the vehicle.

According to the Southern Consistory, as a result of this public service, those affected donated a piece of marlin caught in the waters of Lanzarote by the Short Fishing boat, with Tino García, which operates in Puerto Calero.

The Civil Protection personnel of Yaiza appreciate this gesture and donation of the unique piece of fish.
