National Police agents have arrested in Arrecife M.K., a 28-year-old man of Moroccan nationality, with a criminal record, as the alleged perpetrator of a theft. After being located by police officers, he fled until he fell off the bicycle, causing injuries to his leg.
The events unfolded after a woman called 091, alerting that she had just seen from her apartment balcony a man walking away with a bicycle identical to hers. After going down to check if it was in its place, she was able to observe that it had disappeared.
Police officers located the individual on a central street in the capital of Lanzarote, who fled with the bike after noticing the police presence.
After several minutes of pursuit, the individual fell off the bike, causing injuries to his leg, so he was transferred to a nearby health center where he was treated for the minor injuries he presented and arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a theft. The bicycle was returned to its owner, who valued it at 2,100 euros.
After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out by members of the Arrecife Police Station.
