The Intervention Group of Tías (GIT) of the Local Police of Tías dismantled this week a point of cultivation and processing of marijuana hidden in a local of Puerto del Carmen and arrested the person in charge of the local as alleged author of a crime against public health.

The Headquarters of the Local Police of Tías reports this operation, called Operation Halloween when executed on October 31, indicating that they were able to seize around 70 plants of cannabis sativa with an estimated weight of 15.35 kilograms and several packages of hashish prepared for sale.

The Police focused their investigations on the on-site verification of a local, where it was found that it lacked the corresponding license to the "screen activity" that was being carried out inside, related to the rental of motorcycles.

Intervention of the Canine Unit

“The agents had suspicions of the alleged illicit activity due to the odors emitted from inside the premises, so supported by the Canine Unit and its agent Tequila, proceeded to review the establishment”, police sources indicate.

They add that the agents found around 70 plants of cannabis sativa ready for harvesting and in full production in a room located at the back of the inspected premises, “very well equipped, with ventilation system to the outside and with everything necessary for cultivation”.

Finally, the person in charge of the premises was arrested, who was placed at the disposal of the court, and the corresponding proceedings were instructed to be sent to the judicial authority. The investigation continues in the judicial unit of the Civil Guard.
