An 8-year-old boy is in serious condition after suffering a near drowning from which he was recovered and subsequently transferred to Dr. José Molina Orosa Hospital. The events occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m. this Friday, when an alert was received at the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands, reporting that the lifeguard of a hotel was assisting a minor with symptoms of drowning in the hotel pool located in Playa Blanca, in the Lanzarote municipality of Yaiza.
The SUC mobilized two ambulances, one of them medicalized, whose personnel continued to assist the minor, who had already been resuscitated by the hotel lifeguard. Once stabilized, the child was transferred by ambulance to the island's hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition.
