Around 7 pm last Saturday, officers of the Local Police of Yaiza went to Paseo Limones in the town of Playa Blanca, due to an attempted fire that broke out in a restaurant in this area. The accumulation of grease in the extractor hood of the kitchen of this restaurant is considered the main hypothesis regarding the causes of the accident.
Fortunately, there were no personal injuries. The workers of the establishment were the ones who carried out the first extinction tasks, thanks to the fire extinguishers that the premises had. Afterwards, the Civil Protection officers completely extinguished the flames and cleaned the area, as well as cordoning off the area as a precaution, since many commercial premises are concentrated on this promenade.
