National Police agents have arrested a 44-year-old woman in Arrecife, with no prior police record, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of misappropriation for appropriating 25,000 euros from the company where she works.
The events unfolded when an employee of a company based in Arrecife admitted to police officers that she had appropriated 25,000 euros belonging to the company. The woman narrated that last September she was going to deposit 15,000 euros from the collection in a bank, when she realized that she had lost the envelope containing the money.
Instead of reporting the events, the woman began to take small amounts of money from the cash register periodically from then until February 20, spending it on lottery tickets and other games of chance with the alleged intention of being able to return the money. Finally, the company put the total amount appropriated at 25,000 euros.
Therefore, the police officers proceeded to arrest the woman as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of misappropriation. After the corresponding police report was prepared, it was sent to the competent Judicial Authority.
