The Local Police of Tías, in a joint operation with that of Yaiza, arrested on Tuesday night two people carrying a van with 55 bundles of hashish, which could reach a weight of about 1,700 kilos, although the official weighing is still missing.
As La Voz has learned, the action began in El Golfo, when the Local Police of Yaiza detected several suspicious vehicles and a sailboat on the coast. When they were ordered to stop, they fled and a long chase began through several towns, reaching the municipality of Tías, where they were arrested in Puerto Calero, in the Cortijo Viejo area.
The detainees are two men of Maghreb origin and a third who managed to escape is being sought.
