During the first quarter of this year, the average tourist stay in Lanzarote amounted to 8.6 nights, which is 0.7 nights more than during the same period in 2025, according to the latest report on visitor profile, published by the Lanzarote Data Center.

Despite the increase in the average stay on the rabbit island, Lanzarote registers the shortest period among the islands of the archipelago. The average for the Canary Islands as a whole is 9.7 nights, compared to the 8.8 registered last year between January and March.

The island of Gran Canaria is the one that registers the longest stay with 10.9 nights, almost a day more than last year.

Next are La Palma and Fuerteventura, both with 9.6 nights on average. The former increases by half a day compared to last year and the latter by 0.4 nights more than between January and March of last year.

For its part, in Tenerife, tourists stayed an average of 9.4 nights in the first three months of 2026, which is 1.1 nights more than during the same period in 2026. The report does not analyze data for La Gomera or El Hierro.

The sharp drop in German and Nordic tourism in Lanzarote in recent years has not helped the average tourist stay to grow more in Lanzarote. Germans and Nordics are the ones who stay the longest in the Canary Islands when they visit the archipelago.

Travelers from Germany stayed an average of 11.3 days in the Canary Islands between January and March, 0.8 nights more than the previous year.

Next are travelers from the Nordic countries, whose average stay was almost ten days in the first quarter of 2026, compared to 8.2 days last year.

Travelers from the Netherlands are in third position with an average stay of 9 nights in the Canary Islands. Also much higher than last year when it was 7.3 days.

The British, who account for more than half of Lanzarote's tourism, stayed an average of 8.4 nights between January and March 2026, half a day more than during the same period last year.

For its part, national tourism to the Canary Islands also increased its stay, which went from 5.8 nights last year to 6.5 during the first quarter of this year.
