A person is rescued after suffering a hang gliding accident in Famara

He has been transferred by ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital

Firefighters rescue a person who had suffered a hang gliding accident on the slopes of Famara, in the municipality of Teguise, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.

The incident took place at around 2:35 p.m. this Thursday, when CECOES received the alert. Firefighters, Local Police officers and an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service have moved to the scene.

Once at the scene, the firefighters verified that it was a person who had fallen with his hang glider and was halfway up the slope. The emergency teams descended the terrain secured by stakes. After helping him, the injured person indicated that his back hurt and that he had difficulty breathing. Then, they proceeded to put a neck brace on him while the SUC technician was assessing him.

Finally, they transferred the person on a stretcher to the medicalized ambulance of the Canary Islands Emergency Service and was later evacuated to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
