A Paraglider Injured After Falling on a Mountain in Tías

A 51-year-old man has been injured with multiple injuries of a less serious nature after falling with his paraglider on the mountain of La Asomada, in the municipality of Tías.

Around 5:00 p.m. this Monday, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert informing that a paraglider had fallen in the middle of a mountain in Tías. 

The 1-1-2 has immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Specifically, a GES rescue helicopter, Civil Guard and  Local Police officers, and agents from the Security, Emergency, Rescue, Prevention and Fire Extinction Consortium of Lanzarote have been deployed to the area.

The GES helicopter, in collaboration with the firefighters of the Consortium, has rescued the affected person and, after immobilizing him, has transferred him in the same aircraft to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital. 

The Civil Guard and Local Police have collaborated with the rescue services.
